Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Technical Director
Serves as a technical expert representative for DEHN GmbH and DEHN, Inc. across the sales team, customers, partners and within the organization ( ie R+D, Product Management). Offers technical support to the entity and is instrumental in the product/service offering definition and positioning. Suggests alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability and/or longer life. Helps the organization achieve mission statement and goals with outstanding customer service.
Other responsibilities include construction/installation and technical effort management, customer service, customer relations, management, new product design suggestions and product modifications. Additional efforts include creating technical reports, site grounding reports, detail technical drawings, product application reports, technical white papers, and other duties as assigned by the Technical Director. The Electrical Engineer will assist the management team in creating a favourable image of the DEHN brand products in North America.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will work alongside the Sales Team to promote DEHN products through design efforts, site visits, lunch & learn presentations and trade show participation.
Expansion of our market-leading position in the industry.
Customer acquisition and development of existing customers to find new opportunities, maximize sales and promote market expansion.
Create demand for DEHN, Inc’s Solutions which include education, technical assistance, system design, risk assessments and site surveys in addition to products from our Surge Protection, Lightning Protection and Safety Equipment catalogues.
Promote DEHN Solutions to engineers, end-users, distributors, etc. to create a growing and sustainable market channel through specifying and demonstrating products from DEHN.
In conjunction with the Sales Director and Technical Director, develop strategies, roadmaps and tactical plans to achieve individual sales targets.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress within the organization and may also have opportunities for overseas experience.
Job Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required (technical discipline preferred, mechanical or electrical).
Minimum of 1-2 years technical engineering, application engineering or relevant construction experience.
Clean driving record.
Skill Set Required:
Completed technical education (Technician or comparable) or a Degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering
Several years of experience in sales technically complex products and construction/installation projects.
High level of commitment and excellent communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present in front of customers.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite a must. Experience using a CRM tools an asset.
Ability to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time (training, customer visits) once or twice a year as well as 1-4 day overnight travel (customer visits, tradeshows, etc.) throughout the year.
Candidate must be customer orientated, passionate have a positive attitude and self-confidence.
Integrity and honesty a must.
Must be able to adapt to new strategies and integrate within the team.
