Protection concept: earthing and equipotential bonding

The basic requirement for the secure operation of all electrical systems in a data centre are a functional earthing system and equipotential bonding. By the implementation phase, everything must be right – retrospective corrections are almost impossible.

 

Note on standards: for the installation of earthing systems and equipotential bonding networks for buildings, DIN 18014 and DIN EN 50310 apply, for example. In conjunction with lightning protection systems taking an LEMP concept into account, the requirements of DIN EN 62305-3 and -4 must also be heeded.

1 – Steel strip

According to DIN EN 62561-2 (VDE 0185-561-2), for use in earthing systems, lightning protection systems and in ring equipotential bonding.

2 – Connecting clamp

For connecting reinforcing steel mesh or reinforcements with round and flat conductors. For T, cross and parallel connections.

3 – Rebar clip

DEHNclip – for the quick connection of earth electrodes and reinforcements without tools.

4 – Wall bushing

Water-pressure-tight for watertight concrete construction.

4 – Connection clamps

For connecting round and flat conductors to fixed earthing terminals. Light version, M10, with threaded pin

5 – Round wire

For use in lightning protection and earthing systems. As per DIN EN 62561-2 (VDE 0185-561-2).

6 – Cross unit

For above-ground and underground connections.

7 – Anti-corrosion tape

For wrapping above-ground and underground connections in accordance with the requirements of DIN 12068. In reels, length 10 m, UV-stabilised.

8 – Earthing pipe clamp

For integrating pipes into the protective and functional equipotential bonding as per DIN VDE 0100-410/540, with infinitely adjustable tensioning strap.

9 – Equipotential bonding bar

For protective and functional equipotential bonding as per DIN VDE 0100-410/540 and lightning equipotential bonding as per DIN EN 62305-3 (VDE 0185-305-3).

10 – Earthing pipe clamp

For integrating pipes into the protective and functional equipotential bonding as per DIN VDE 0100-410/540 and the lightning equipotential bonding as per DIN EN 62305-3 (VDE 0185-305-3).
